Russian River Hoop and Flow (RRHF) is a collective of people who get together weekly to hula hoop, dance, and play. Formed by Jim Hendrickson in the middle of the pandemic to practice safe social distancing, it has become an event that continues to spark joy and levity in our ever challenging times. Using music that streams live from DJ WT3's weekly radio show #Anthropology on Guerneville's River Theater Radio 95.1, Jim and the growing super troupe of hoopers can be found every Wednesday evening from 6-8pm in the downtown Guerneville Plaza, and almost every weekend between June-September. Check and follow the RRHF facebook (Russian River Hoop and Flow) and instagram @rrhoopflow for weekend pop up event location times and details. There are always plenty of extra hoops, so come join RRHF to move, groove, and meet new people! In addition to their weekly or biweekly jams, Russian River Hoop and Flow can be booked for classes, performances, team building/corporate training events, and parties.
If you think you are too old to hula hoop, you aren't! |
My girlfriend and I were walking to dinner and when we were done, we stopped by to join for a few minutes. It was fun but we were too full of food to keep going. We will definitely be back on emptier stomachs!" -Asa |
I want to show you something I just learned and then I'll teach you!"- Moira
This group has honestly transformed the plaza space in Guerneville. I love that this exists."-John You didn't wake up thinking you were going to hula hoop today, did you?" -Jim |
I haven't done this since I was a little girl...and I'm not going to tell you how many years ago that was! Oh how fun!" -Anna I'm happy I get to say that I discovered I'm a really good hula hooper at age 40. Haha! It makes me laugh, it's a great workout, and it also calms my nervous system which helps my anxiety. WIN WIN WIN." |
